Our tours are designed to give you a great day out visiting these beautiful sites in the company of our tour guide who will personally collect you from your hotel in Dublin , Louth or Meath or from any of the cruise ships that arrive at either Dublin or Dún Laoghaire Port.  We are located 30 minutes from Dublin in the historical town of Drogheda, County Louth, which is the gateway to the famous Boyne Valley region and the UNESO World Heritage site at Newgrange . Drogheda itself is steeped in history from Cromwells’ invasion of the town in 1649 to the famous Battle of the Boyne in 1690 which was the largest battle ever to take place on these shores . Today you can visit the Battle of the Boyne Site at Oldbridge which is just a short drive from Drogheda .

In Saint Peter’s Church in Drogheda, you can visit the shrine of Blessed Oliver Plunkett who was hung , drawn and quartered in the year 1681 at Tyburn in London , he was beatified in 1920 and was canonised a saint in 1975 thus being the first new Irish Saint in almost seven hundred years .

Just a few miles from Drogheda in Monasterboice is home to the beautiful Muirdach’s High Cross (900 – 927 AD) and The Round Tower (13th century) . Close by are the ruins at Mellifont Abbey, a 12th Century Cistercian Abbey.  Another great place to visit is the Hill of Slane, where it says that St.Patrick lit a Paschal fire on the hill top in A.D. 433 in defiance of the High King Laiore, who forbid the lighting of any other fires while a festival fire was burning on the Hill Of Tara .

Still travelling on the Boyne Region why not take in Trim Castle , the largest Anglo – Norman castle in Ireland and built by Hugh de Lacy in 1173 , it took thirty years to construct this beautiful castle . The castle itself was used as a film location for the Hollywood movie Braveheart . Another beautiful place to visit has to be the Hill of Tara best known as the seat of the High Kings of Ireland, the Hill of Tara has been an important site since the late Stone Age when a passage-tomb was constructed there. Tara was at the height of its power as a political and religious centre in the early centuries after Christ. Attractions include an audio-visual show and guided tours of the site.
